Pointcaster

Pointcaster is a real-time engine for capturing, combining, analysing and broadcasting 3D scenes. By taking live input from multiple depth cameras or LiDAR sensors and analysing the 3D environment, it can be used to add room-scale interaction to digital spaces.

Data like the location of users in a space or their current pose can be published through various protocols such as OSC, MIDI and MQTT to drive interaction in game engines, digital audio workstations and other interactive media applications.

Point-clouds are combined and can be transformed, filtered and streamed into tools for 3D visualisation using the native plugins for Unity, Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner.

Pointcaster itself is free to use under the GNU AGPL. The Unity, Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner integrations are not free, and using one in a commercial project requires a license. Licenses are automatically granted to individual artists and not-for-profit organisations. For support, custom integration or licensing, reach out to [email protected].
